︎︎︎Dr. Jim Johansson is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada.

His work has multiple focuses: the intersection of the criminal justice system and mental health, wildland firefighter mental health and climate change, the impacts of wildfire and climate change on Indigenous community mental health, aging futures for those with mental health diagnoses, and involuntary treatment for persons who use substances.

He has written several publications in the field of critical nursing studies, and has presented his work across Canada and internationally. He is an editorial board member of the Journal of Forensic Nursing.

Jim is currently accepting master's and doctoral students for supervision.
